No: 319/26 Press Release on the Repatriation of Citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan from Syria

As a result of phased and coordinated measures taken by the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan, a total of 16 citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan, 7 of whom are women and 9 of whom are children, were repatriated to our country from the Syrian Arab Republic on 18 and 19 July of this year.
First, the location, identity and affiliation to the citizenship of the Republic of Azerbaijan of the returnees were established.
Members of the Working Group, comprising the state agencies responsible for the repatriation of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan who have found themselves in crisis situations in foreign countries, were dispatched to Syria, and the initial medical and psychological examination of the returnees was ensured.
Subsequently, through the relevant coordination work carried out by the Embassies of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Syrian Arab Republic and the Republic of Türkiye, including the Consulate General in the city of Istanbul, our citizens were provided with certificates of return to the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as flight tickets, and were brought to the country.
The implementation of relevant measures towards the social rehabilitation and reintegration into society of the returnees is envisaged.
The Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan will continue to take the necessary measures for the repatriation of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan who have become victims of armed conflict in the territory of foreign countries.
