No: 304/26 Press Release on the Meeting of Minister Jeyhun Bayramov with the Delegation Led by Speaker of the National Assembly of Zimbabwe Jacob Mudenda

On 7 July, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov received the delegation led by Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Zimbabwe Jacob Mudenda, who is on a visit to our country.
At the meeting, an exchange of views was held on the prospects for the development of political dialogue between Azerbaijan and Zimbabwe, the expansion of interparliamentary cooperation, and opportunities for cooperation in the fields of education, tourism, the mining industry, agriculture, the application of the ASAN service model in the provision of public services, and other areas of mutual interest.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov emphasized the importance our country attaches to the development of relations among African countries, and noted that mutual visits and parliamentary diplomacy make an important contribution to strengthening bilateral relations. In this regard, the importance of continuing mutual support and cooperation within the framework of international organizations was noted.
The sides emphasized the importance of the initiatives promoted by Azerbaijan during its Chairmanship of the Non-Aligned Movement, as well as the results achieved within the framework of COP29, in terms of advancing the interests of developing countries.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov conveyed his congratulations on Zimbabwe's election as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for the 2027-2028 term, and stated that our country is ready to cooperate closely with Zimbabwe during this period of responsible activity. The sides emphasized the importance of cooperation within the UN and other multilateral platforms, and of joint action towards promoting the norms and principles of international law.
The sides also discussed cooperation issues within the framework of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU).
The Minister also provided the other side with detailed information on the regional situation, the past conflict and the current peace agenda, and the restoration and reconstruction works in our liberated territories.
The meeting also featured an exchange of views on regional and international issues of mutual interest.
