On 18 June, a telephone conversation was held between Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov and Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Mohammad Ishaq Dar.
During the telephone conversation, an exchange of views was conducted on the agreement reached on the Memorandum of Understanding between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The important mediation role played by the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in the negotiation process was appreciated on behalf of our country, and it was emphasized that the personal contributions of Prime Minister of Pakistan Mr. Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammad Ishaq Dar, as well as Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir, played a significant role in the successful conclusion of the negotiations. The contributions of other regional partners supporting the process were also noted with satisfaction.
The sides noted that the agreement reached serves to reduce tensions in the region, strengthen mutual trust and promote diplomatic solutions.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov expressed hope that the negotiations to be conducted at the next stage towards reaching a comprehensive agreement will make an important contribution to ensuring lasting peace, security and stability.
During the telephone conversation, an exchange of views was also conducted on bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest.
