No:278/26, Press release on the meeting of Deputy Minister Yalchin Rafiyev with the Executive Secretary of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD)

On 18 June, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Yalchin Rafiyev met with Workneh Gebeyehu Negewo, Executive Secretary of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), which unites eight countries of the African continent.
At the meeting, issues of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the African states that are members of IGAD within the framework of bilateral and international platforms were discussed, and the importance of mutual visits and institutional mechanisms for maintaining sustainable political dialogue was emphasized.
At the meeting, an exchange of views was also conducted on development prospects of cooperation between Azerbaijan and IGAD in the fields of politics, economy, education, healthcare, climate, public service, transport and communication, as well as other bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest.
