On 16 June, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov received the delegation led by President of the Turkic Investment Fund Baghdad Amreyev.

 

During the meeting, an exchange of views was conducted on issues on the cooperation agenda between Azerbaijan and the Turkic Investment Fund, the areas of activity of the Fund and prospective projects.

 

The sides emphasized that the Turkic Investment Fund, established at the initiative and with the active support of Azerbaijan, is of great importance in terms of deepening economic integration among Turkic states, promoting mutual investments and contributing to the sustainable development of the region.

 

The role of the projects advanced by Azerbaijan in strengthening regional connectivity, expanding transport and communication opportunities and developing economic cooperation was noted. In this context, information was provided about the measures implemented towards increasing the potential of the Middle Corridor, developing the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, as well as strengthening the position of our country as an important logistics and transport hub.

 

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov stated that the transport and logistics infrastructure formed in and around the Alat International Sea Trade Port serves to increase the volume of regional trade and cargo transportation.

 

In addition, information was provided about the work carried out in the field of alternative energy.

 

The sides noted that more effective realization of the economic potential of the Turkic world, promotion of mutually beneficial investment projects and increasing joint efforts in the fields of transport, energy and infrastructure will make an important contribution to strengthening common prosperity and the sustainable development of the region.

 

During the meeting, an exchange of views was also conducted on other issues of mutual interest.
