On 8 June, a meeting was held in Istanbul between Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov and Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Maka Botchorishvili, within the framework of the 10th trilateral meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Georgia and Türkiye.
During the meeting, the current state and development prospects of Azerbaijan-Georgia strategic partnership relations, political dialogue, economic and trade relations, energy security, transport and communication projects and regional cooperation issues were discussed.
The Ministers emphasized that relations between Azerbaijan and Georgia, based on mutual trust and good neighborliness, are of particular importance in terms of the stability and development of the region. The sides noted the regional and global importance of joint projects implemented in the fields of energy and transport, including the Southern Gas Corridor, the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway and the Middle Corridor.
At the meeting, an exchange of views was conducted on regional security issues and the current situation in the direction of ensuring lasting peace and stability in the South Caucasus.
The sides noted that the trilateral cooperation format between Azerbaijan, Georgia and Türkiye contributes to strengthening regional prosperity, energy and transport connectivity, and expressed their intention to further develop this cooperation in the future.
During the meeting, other bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest were also reviewed.
