No:251/26, Press release on the meeting of Minister Jeyhun Bayramov with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye Hakan Fidan

On 8 June, a meeting was held in Istanbul between Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye Hakan Fidan, within the framework of the 10th trilateral meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Georgia and Türkiye.
During the meeting, an exchange of views was conducted on issues arising from the Azerbaijan-Türkiye allied relations, current areas of the bilateral and multilateral cooperation agenda, as well as regional and international security issues.
The Ministers emphasized the important role of the trilateral cooperation mechanism established between Azerbaijan, Georgia and Türkiye in promoting regional stability, security, energy and transport connectivity. In this context, the Middle Corridor, the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway project, the expansion of regional transit opportunities and prospects for cooperation in the field of energy security were discussed.
The sides also noted the importance of ensuring lasting peace and stability in our region and emphasized the need to continue joint and coordinated efforts towards expanding cooperation in the region.
At the meeting, an exchange of views was also conducted on other regional and international issues of mutual interest.
