No:237/26, Press release on the meeting of Minister Jeyhun Bayramov with Duncan Norman, the newly appointed Ambassador of the United Kingdom

On 3 June, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov received Duncan Norman, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom to our country.
During the meeting, Ambassador Norman presented a copy of his credentials to Minister Jeyhun Bayramov. The Minister congratulated the Ambassador on his new appointment and wished him success in his diplomatic activity in Azerbaijan.
During the meeting, an exchange of views was conducted on the current situation and prospects of Azerbaijan-United Kingdom relations, as well as regional and international issues of mutual interest.
The sides noted with satisfaction that cooperation between Azerbaijan and the United Kingdom is successfully developing in the political, economic, energy, trade, investment, education and other fields.
In addition, the importance of elevating relations to the level of strategic partnership, as well as further expanding high-level mutual contacts and economic partnership, was emphasized.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov provided the other side with detailed information on the current situation in the region, the realities that have emerged in the post-conflict period, as well as the Azerbaijan-Armenia normalization process and the steps taken by our country.
Ambassador Duncan Norman expressed satisfaction with starting his activity in Azerbaijan and stated that he would spare no efforts towards further developing cooperation between our countries.
At the meeting, other issues of mutual interest were also reviewed.
