On 1 June, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov met with the delegation headed by Caleb Orr, Assistant Secretary of State of the United States for economic, energy and business affairs, who is on a visit to our country.
During the meeting, the current situation and prospects of Azerbaijan-U.S. relations, economy, energy security, transport and communication ties, investments, trade, as well as issues of mutual interest on the regional agenda were discussed.
The sides emphasized the importance of further expanding mutually beneficial cooperation in accordance with the Strategic Partnership Charter signed between Azerbaijan and the United States. It was noted that the Azerbaijan-U.S. Economic Dialogue, the first meeting of which will be held, is of special importance in terms of the development of cooperation ties.
At the meeting, long-term cooperation in the field of energy, particularly the contribution of our country to energy security, was emphasized. At the same time, development prospects of cooperation in the fields of renewable energy, green transition, innovations and high technologies were reviewed.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov provided information on the favorable investment climate of our country, regional connectivity projects and initiatives implemented towards the development of international transport corridors. In this direction, the growing importance of the Middle Corridor and its contribution to regional economic integration were emphasized.
At the meeting, the current situation and significant progress in the region after the historic agreements reached within the framework of the Washington Summit in August of last year, as well as the opening of communication lines and issues of implementation of the TRIPP project were discussed.
The sides also conducted an exchange of views on other issues of mutual interest.
