On 1 June, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Co-Chair of the Azerbaijan-U.S. Strategic Working Group Elnur Mammadov met with the delegation headed by Sonata Coulter, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs of the United States and Co-Chair of the Strategic Working Group on behalf of the United States.
At the meeting dedicated to the development of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and the United States, prospects for cooperation within the framework of the U.S.-Azerbaijan Strategic Partnership Charter, expansion of economic ties, energy security, regional connectivity and other issues of mutual interest were discussed.
The sides emphasized the importance of strengthening the strategic partnership and noted that the first meeting of the Azerbaijan-U.S. Economic Dialogue, to be held in Baku on 2 June, will make an additional contribution to the development of bilateral cooperation.
In addition, at the meeting, the intention was expressed to continue dialogue towards deepening economic and trade relations, expanding cooperation in the fields of energy and transport, as well as promoting regional stability and prosperity.
