On 26 May, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov met with Rashid Meredov, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, within the framework of his working visit to New York.
During the meeting, the role and importance of high-level mutual visits and contacts between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan in the further development of bilateral relations based on friendship and brotherhood were discussed.
In addition, the bilateral and multilateral cooperation agenda, including opportunities for expanding cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, energy, transport and logistics, as well as humanitarian affairs, science, education and culture, and within the framework of the Caspian Sea, were discussed.
Furthermore, the importance of continuing mutually beneficial cooperation and solidarity within the framework of multilateral platforms was highlighted.
At the same time, an exchange of views was conducted on regional security issues, and the importance of preserving peace, stability and sustainable development in the region as a whole was emphasized.
During the meeting, an exchange of views was also conducted on other issues of mutual interest.
