On 26 May, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov met with Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain, within the framework of his working visit to New York, United States of America.
During the meeting, discussions were held on the current situation and development prospects of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Bahrain, political dialogue, economic and trade relations, as well as other issues of mutual interest.
The ministers emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation in a number of important areas, as well as coordinated activity within the framework of international organizations and platforms, including the UN, the Non-Aligned Movement and CICA.
The commencement of the activities of our country’s Embassy in Bahrain was noted with satisfaction.
The sides conducted an exchange of views on regional and international security issues, as well as the current situation in the Middle East. The importance of ensuring stability and security in the region and promoting diplomatic efforts and dialogue in order to prevent further escalation of tensions was highlighted.
At the meeting, other regional and international issues of mutual interest were also reviewed.
