No:224/26, Press release on the meeting of Minister Jeyhun Bayramov with Petr Macinka, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic

On 26 May, Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov met with Petr Macinka, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, within the framework of his participation in the high-level meeting of the UN Security Council on “Maintaining the purposes and principles of the UN Charter and strengthening the UN-centered international system.”
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov once again congratulated his Czech counterpart on his appointment as Minister of Foreign Affairs.
During the meeting, issues of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Czech in the political, economic, energy, humanitarian and other areas were discussed, and an exchange of views was conducted on recent regional and international developments.
It was emphasized that the existing high-level political dialogue between Azerbaijan and Czech, mutual visits and contacts of representatives at the state and government, as well as parliamentary levels, and political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs give impetus to the development of our relations within the framework of both bilateral and multilateral platforms.
Issues arising from the important agreements reached during the visit of Prime Minister of Czech Andrej Babiš to Azerbaijan in April of the current year were reviewed.
Satisfaction was expressed with the current level of development of Azerbaijan-Czech economic and trade relations, and attention was paid to the importance of increasing mutual investments and diversifying existing areas of cooperation in order to make these relations more sustainable.
At the meeting, the Minister provided the other side with detailed information on the former Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict, the current situation and realities in the region in the post-conflict period, the large-scale restoration and reconstruction works carried out in the liberated territories, as well as the mine threat in the region.
At the meeting, an exchange of views was also conducted on other issues of mutual interest.
