No:199/23, Press release on the telephone conversation between Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran Hossein Amir-Abdollahian

On 7 and 8 April 2023, telephone conversations were held between Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran Hossein Amir-Abdollahian.
The sides mutually stated that they respect the territorial integrity and sovereignty of both countries.
During the telephone conversations, a detailed discussion was held on the existing dissatisfaction and misunderstandings between the two countries. The importance of continuing negotiations in order to eliminate misunderstandings was emphasized.
Agreement was expressed on working towards the implementation of existing projects between Azerbaijan and Iran.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov highlighted the importance of respecting Azerbaijan’s independent foreign policy carried out on the basis of its national interests and its bilateral relations with countries of the region.
The Ministers noted the importance of continuing mutual contacts.
