On 4 April 2023, a telephone conversation was held between Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud.
During the telephone conversation, various aspects of the bilateral and multilateral cooperation agenda between the two countries, including regional processes, were discussed.
The Ministers conveyed their congratulations and best wishes on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan and wished this blessed month to bring peace, unity and tranquility to the entire Islamic world.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov noted with satisfaction the existence of a bilateral and multilateral cooperation agenda between Azerbaijan and Saudi Arabia in various fields, including political, economic, energy security, humanitarian and other areas, and stated that mutual visits and contacts play an important role in the development of relations. In particular, the demonstration of mutual support and solidarity between the two countries within the framework of international organizations, including the United Nations (UN), the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), was noted with appreciation. The importance of Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud’s visit to our country last year and the consultations held between the MFAs in February of this year was emphasized.
Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud noted that there is broad potential for further developing friendly relations between the two countries. Speaking about the importance of high-level and senior-level contacts, including mutual visits, it was stated that such contacts create a basis for relations to enter a qualitatively new stage.
