On 16 February 2023, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu held a telephone conversation.
During the telephone conversation, the latest situation regarding the operations and works carried out towards rescuing the population affected by the earthquake that caused great loss of life and severe destruction in the Republic of Türkiye and providing humanitarian assistance was discussed.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, once again extending his condolences over the large number of people who lost their lives as a result of the earthquake, wished recovery to those injured as a result of the earthquake. Minister Jeyhun Bayramov stated that Azerbaijan, as always, stands by brotherly Türkiye in these difficult days and will continue its support towards eliminating the consequences of the earthquake. Minister Jeyhun Bayramov confidently expressed his belief that brotherly Türkiye will overcome this difficult trial with dignity as well.
During the telephone conversation, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Türkiye Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu also provided detailed information on the latest situation in the earthquake zone and the course of rescue operations.
During the telephone conversation, an exchange of views was also conducted on the current situation in the region, including other issues of mutual interest.
