On 19 January 2023, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba Bruno Eduardo Rodríguez Parrilla held a telephone conversation.
Expressing satisfaction with the development of relations between our countries, the Ministers emphasized that there are broad prospects for the further dynamic development of our relations. Emphasizing the importance of the launch of the activities of the Azerbaijan-Cuba Intergovernmental Joint Economic Commission, the sides stated that cooperation in the fields of economy, investments, tourism and healthcare is important. Cooperation between our countries during the pandemic period, and in this regard, the mutual assistance provided, was recalled.
The Ministers of Foreign Affairs noted the existence of historical and cultural ties between the leaders, peoples and governments of our countries, as well as the importance of high-level political dialogue and bilateral high-level official visits at present. At the same time, the sides discussed prospects for more active cooperation on multilateral platforms and within the framework of the Non-Aligned Movement. Hope was expressed that the opening of Azerbaijan’s Embassy in Cuba and the appointment of our country’s Ambassador for the first time will further contribute to the development of relations.
During the telephone conversation, an exchange of views was also conducted on other bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest.
