No:433/23, Commentary on the allegations voiced by Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan during his speech at the government meeting

The presentation by Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, during his speech at the government meeting on 11 August, of the non-acceptance of cargo sent by Armenia in the direction of Lachin under the name of “humanitarian cargo” as “ethnic cleansing” against Armenian residents, while once again repeating allegations regarding a “tense humanitarian situation” in the region, does not fit any logic.
The leader of a country that committed massacres against Azerbaijanis as a result of the occupation of nearly 20 percent of Azerbaijan’s lands, and carried out ethnic cleansing against Azerbaijanis not only from these lands but also from the territory of Armenia, has no moral right to voice allegations of ethnic cleansing.
Armenia’s continuous repetition of these allegations shows that the prevention, after the establishment of the Lachin border checkpoint, of the illegal activities carried out by Armenia through the use of the Lachin road before the establishment of the checkpoint concerns this country.
If Armenian residents truly need daily consumer goods as alleged, it is possible to use the “Aghdam-Khankendi” road proposed by Azerbaijan and supported by international partners for this purpose.
Instead of groundlessly disseminating allegations about a “humanitarian crisis” and committing provocations against Azerbaijan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, the Armenian side should make efforts towards peace and stability in the region.
