On 6 August, within the framework of his official visit to Ukraine, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov visited the city of Irpin.
In recent years, the city of Irpin has become a clear example of the historical friendship and humanitarian cooperation between Azerbaijan and Ukraine. The city of Irpin, which has twinning ties with Azerbaijan's city of Lachin, is home to a park, a street and a lyceum bearing the name of academician Zarifa Aliyeva, and the Azerbaijani language is taught at the lyceum.
Within the framework of the visit, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and the delegation he led laid flowers at the bust of the eminent Azerbaijani ophthalmologist and academician Zarifa Aliyeva, located at the park named after her in the center of the city of Irpin, honoring her cherished memory with deep reverence.
This was followed by a visit to the Zarifa Aliyeva Lyceum and the city polyclinic, both of which had been fully restored and put back into operation with Azerbaijan's financial and humanitarian support. These projects, carried out in the city of Irpin, which suffered severe destruction as a result of the war, are among the important examples of the humanitarian assistance provided by Azerbaijan to Ukraine and of its contribution to the reconstruction process.
A visit also took place to familiarize the delegation with the restoration project of a cultural center, planned to be carried out in Irpin with the support of the Government of Azerbaijan.
