From 7 to 9 July, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Elnur Mammadov paid a working visit to the US states of Utah and California.
During the visit, meetings were held with political, educational and business leaders of the state of Utah, including technology companies.
Within the framework of the visit to the state of Utah, Deputy Minister Elnur Mammadov held working meetings with President of the Utah State Senate Stuart Adams, Member of the Quorum of the Seventy of "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints" Jack Gerard, President of the University of Utah Taylor Randall, and President of the Sterling Foundation Miles Hansen, and discussed possible practical cooperation issues.
E. Mammadov also delivered remarks at the World Trade Center Utah on Azerbaijan's strategic role and business opportunities for the business and technology companies of the state of Utah, an event organized by Director of Trade and International Cooperation of the Governor's Office of Utah Franz Kolb and Executive Director of the Center Jonathan Freedman.
Within the framework of the working visit to the state of California, Deputy Minister Elnur Mammadov held a meeting with Vice President of International and Government Affairs of "Nvidia" Ned Finkle at the company's headquarters, and discussed possible cooperation issues. In addition, the delegation led by E. Mammadov was briefed at "Nvidia" on the importance of artificial intelligence in public governance, the impact of digital transformation on citizen services, and opportunities for the application of innovative solutions.
In addition, an exchange of information on the services provided by Azerbaijan and the city of San Jose in urban governance and citizen services took place at the city's Artificial Intelligence Center.
