On 2-3 June, negotiations on the draft new comprehensive agreement and the Partnership Priorities document covering 2026-2030 were held in Baku between the delegations of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the European Union.
The Azerbaijani delegation was headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Yalchin Rafiyev, while the European Union side was headed by Deputy Managing Director of the European External Action Service Audrone Perkauskiene.
As a result of the discussions held in a constructive spirit, the draft European Union-Azerbaijan Partnership Priorities document covering 2026-2030 was preliminarily agreed.
Within the framework of the negotiations on the new comprehensive agreement, representatives of the relevant state institutions of the Republic of Azerbaijan, together with their counterparts from the European Union, held productive discussions on various sections of the draft agreement, progress was achieved in a number of areas, and plans regarding the next stages of the negotiations were determined.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the sides agreed to continue the negotiations on the draft new bilateral agreement intensively in the format of online and physical meetings.
Along with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Azerbaijani delegation included representatives of the Presidential Administration, the Ministries of Economy, Justice, Energy, Digital Development and Transport, Finance, Labour and Social Protection of Population, Science and Education, as well as the Central Bank, the State Customs Committee, SOCAR, the Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control, Intellectual Property and Media Development Agencies.
