On 26 May, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov met with Bruno Eduardo Rodríguez Parrilla, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cuba, within the framework of his working visit to New York.
During the meeting, satisfaction was expressed with the development of relations, and discussions were held on the positive dynamics observed in relations between our countries in recent years.
It was noted that historical and cultural ties exist between our countries, and the importance of further expanding cooperation in the fields of education and healthcare was emphasized.
In addition, discussions were held on the prospects for cooperation between the two countries on multilateral platforms, including within the framework of the UN, the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) and the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), as well as on Azerbaijan’s humanitarian and development assistance support to Small Island Developing States (SIDS). Gratitude was expressed for the humanitarian assistance and educational scholarships provided by our country to Cuba.
During the meeting, an exchange of views was also conducted on other bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest, including the security situation in the Caribbean Basin and the Middle East.
