Question: On 10 April, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran Nasser Kanaani positively assessed the results of the telephone conversations held between the Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan and Iran on 7-8 April. What is the comment of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan on these views of Kanaani?
Answer: During the recent telephone conversations held between the Foreign Ministers, a detailed exchange of views was conducted on the known situation that has arisen between our countries. The Azerbaijani side positively assesses these talks and considers it important to continue consultations.
Azerbaijan has always been interested in developing neighborly relations with all neighboring countries, including Iran. Mutual respect for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of states is an unchanging priority of the foreign policy of the Republic of Azerbaijan. In this regard, the Azerbaijani side continues its efforts to ensure the national interests and national security of our country.
