No:191/26, Press release on the meeting of Minister Jeyhun Bayramov with Juana Castro Santamaria, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Colombia

On 29 April, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov received the delegation headed by Juana Castro Santamaria, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Colombia.
During the meeting, the current situation and development prospects of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Colombia were discussed.
The sides conducted an exchange of views on expanding political dialogue, promoting economic and trade relations, as well as cooperation opportunities in a number of areas of mutual interest, including tourism, visa liberalization, education, culture, humanitarian affairs, student exchange, interparliamentary relations and a number of other areas. The growing interest in the Spanish language in our country and the participation of our citizens in programs organized in this field were noted with satisfaction.
Azerbaijan’s hosting of COP29, chairmanship of a number of international platforms, and leadership in the region were commended.
The sides also discussed cooperation within the framework of multilateral platforms, including issues of strengthening mutual support in international organizations.
Taking into account that both countries suffer from mines, the importance of cooperation in the field of demining was emphasized.
At the meeting, an exchange of views was also conducted on other issues of mutual interest.
On the same day, the next meeting of political consultations between Azerbaijan and Colombia was held. The consultations were headed by Deputy Minister Elnur Mammadov on behalf of Azerbaijan and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Juana Castro Santamaria on behalf of Colombia.
