No:188/26, Press release on the second meeting of the Cooperation Committee on Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE)

On 28 April, the second meeting of the Cooperation Committee on Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) was held in the city of Baku.
The meeting was chaired by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Yalchin Rafiyev on behalf of Azerbaijan and Minister of State Saeed Al Hajeri on behalf of the UAE as co-chairs of the committee.
Within the framework of the committee’s work, a tête-à-tête meeting was held between Deputy Minister Y. Rafiyev and Minister of State S. Al Hajeri. Afterwards, an expanded meeting was held under the chairmanship of the co-chairs, with the participation of the ambassadors of both countries and representatives of relevant state institutions. Based on the reports presented by the subcommittees, the development of cooperation in various areas was discussed.
Within the framework of the meeting, the work carried out since the first meeting of the committee, held in Abu Dhabi in November of last year, was reviewed, the results achieved were assessed, and an exchange of views was conducted on priority areas, concrete initiatives and joint projects for the upcoming period.
The co-chairs positively assessed the implementation process of the roadmap and work plans agreed within the framework of the first meeting of the committee and emphasized the importance of further deepening cooperation aimed at concrete results. In addition, agreement was expressed on putting forward new initiatives for the upcoming period, further improving existing mechanisms and strengthening the institutional foundations of cooperation.
Along with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the meeting was attended on behalf of the Republic of Azerbaijan by representatives of the Ministries of Economy, Energy, Justice, Defense, Internal Affairs, Digital Development and Transport, Science and Education, Culture and Agriculture, as well as the State Tourism Agency, the Food Safety Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan, SOCAR, Azerbaijan Investment Holding and AZCON Holding.
