No:187/26, Press release on consular consultations between Azerbaijan and Serbia

On 28 April, the third consular consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia were held in the city of Belgrade.
At the consultations, the Azerbaijani delegation was headed by Emil Safarov, Head of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, while the Serbian delegation was headed by Nataša Rašević, Acting Assistant Minister for Consular Affairs of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia.
During the consular consultations, the current situation and development prospects of cooperation with the Republic of Serbia in the consular field, including the possibilities of signing new bilateral documents in this field, were reviewed.
In addition, an exchange of views was conducted on recent innovations implemented in the consular field, including the existing experience of both countries and the mechanisms applied in the field of digitalization of consular services, and the possibilities of expanding cooperation in this area and mutually applying advanced practices were reviewed.
Moreover, the importance of strengthening relations between the two countries in the fields of migration, justice, education, labor and social protection was emphasized.
At the meeting, an exchange of views and experience was also conducted on effectively ensuring consular protection of citizens in crisis situations and regulating labor migration.
