At the meeting that was held on January 9, due to the initiative of the Egyptian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for the UN issues, Ahmad Fathalla, Azerbaijan declared its support in election of Egypt to the UN Security Council
During the meeting with the Minister of the International Cooperation Mrs. Fayza Abu Naga on January 10, it was arranged to hold the second meeting of the Azerbaijan-Egypt Intergovernmental Joint Commission on September 2005

At the meeting with the Egyptian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for the European affairs Ashraf Rashid that was held on January 17, several bilateral issues were discussed and the political discussions between the Ministries of two countries were reached to be held in Cairo
The anniversary of the “20th of January” was commemorated in the Embassy on January 18, with the participation of the journalists which were deeply informed by the Ambassador about the event
Due to the initiative of the Embassy, the information about press conference concerning the tragedy of the “20th of January was published in such the famous Egyptian newspapers as “Al-Jumhuriyya” and “Al-Ahram” on January 19, in Turkish “Zaman” newspapers on January 21, in Egyptian “October” newspaper on January 22 as well as in Arabic journal “Al-Vatan Al-Arabi” magazine that issued in Paris
The discussions in the sphere of oil were held during the meeting with the Minister of Oil Samih Fahmi on February 5
During the meting with the Minister of Tourism Ahmed Al-Magrabi on February 7, there were told about the famous Azerbaijani resorts and places for tourism and as well as discussions were held concerning this field
On February 8, during the meeting with the Egyptian Deputy Minister Sherif Shubashi the discussions on appropriate subject were held as well as the date of the official visit of the representatives of the Republic of Azerbaijan was fixed

On March 26-30 the Azerbaijani Deputy Minister of Culture Adalat Veliyev visited Egypt and met with the Egyptian Minister of Culture Faruq Husni as well as with his counterpart Sherif Shubashi and in the result of the discussions between two countries, the Agreement on cooperation in the sphere of culture was signed and the Azerbaijani days in Egypt was reached to be held in Egypt. During the visit Adalat Veliyev was interviewed by the Egyptian “Misir Al-Yaum”, “October” magazines
On March 31, the Day of Genocide of Azerbaijan was commemorated by the Embassy. The representatives of the Egyptian mass media were deeply informed about this event as well as press-releases prepared by the Embassy were sent to the other Embassies and Representatives
On April 12, the interview of the Ambassador Faiq Bagirov about Azerbaijan was published in such the famous Egyptian magazines as “Ad-Diplomasi Ad-Dauli”
On April 13-14 the meetings were held with the Minister of Education of Egypt Amr Izzat Salama and his Deputy Jamal Hasan in order to discuss the relations in educational field between two countries, and also about the visit of the Minister of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan Misir Mardanov to ARE and the documents to be signed
On April 18-23, the Azerbaijani Minister of Education Misir Mardanov with the representatives accompanied him visited Egypt. During the visit, a number of meetings were held and the five agreement packets were signed instead of two ones which had been expected to be signed
The Egyptian “Misir Al-Yaum” magazine and “Al-Ahbar” newspaper published the information about the visit of the educational Minister of Azerbaijan to Egypt as well as the agreements on cooperation between Baku and Cairo and also Azerbaijan and Alexandria Universities
On May 8, the day of occupation of Shusha was commemorated at the Embassy with the participation of the Egyptian mass media representatives
On May 10, birthday of the National Leader of the Azeri nations Heydar Aliyev was commemorated at the Embassy. The DVD film concerning his activity was played back in attendance of the representatives of Azerbaijani society, the Azerbaijani students studying in Egypt as well as all the staff of the Embassy
On May 10, during the meeting with the Head of the Department of Europe within the League of Arab States Farida Hasuna the regulations of the Memorandum of Understanding project between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan and the League of Arab States was discussed and reached to be prepared by the LAG and to be sent to the Embassy. The Memorandum project was sent in its turn to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan where some appropriate corrections were made and resent to the LAG which is being now under consideration
On May 11, during the meeting with the First deputy Minister of Education of ARE Ahmad Bahauddin, the launching of the branch of the Oil Academy of Azerbaijan in south Sinai was discussed
On May 28, having visited the Embassy, the representative of the President of ARE Tariq Abdulaziz delivered the congratulations of the President
