Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov and Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister of Belgium Didier Reynders congratulated the Peoples of Belgium and Azerbaijan respectively on the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Belgium.
Elmar Mammadyarov noting the close cooperation and fruitful political dialogue between the two countries stressed that the meeting between His Majesty King Philippe of the Belgians and H.E. Mr. Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the margins of his visit to the Kingdom of Belgium on February 6, 2017, is an obvious example of this cooperation.
Minister Elmar Mammadyarov confirmed that economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Belgium continues successfully and noted the great potential for the enhancement of this cooperation. He also stressed that numerous events held in recent years on promotion of the culture of Belgium in Azerbaijan and the culture of Azerbaijan in Belgium contributed to promotion of ties of our peoples.
Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister of Belgium Didier Reynders highlighted that Azerbaijan was the first among former Soviet republics to establish diplomatic ties with Belgium and mentioned that bilateral relations between the two countries have successfully developed in various areas during past 25 years. He stressed that high level reciprocal visits and regular meetings at parliamentary level carried out during this period have contributed to the development of political cooperation between Azerbaijan and Belgium.
