Minister Elmar Mammadyarov received Muhammad Taqi Khalili, the newly appointed ambassador of Afghanistan to Azerbaijan.
During the meeting the satisfaction was expressed with the development of traditional bounds of friendship between Azerbaijan and Afghanistan.
Minister Elmar Mammadyarov stressed that Azerbaijan attaches great importance to development of its friendly relations with Afghanistan and expressed his conviction for further development of bilateral cooperation in scientific, educational, investment, humanitarian, transport and other spheres.
Ambassador Mohammad Tagi Khalili expressed esteem for bright memory of the national leader Heydar Aliyev in connection with the anniversary of the Great Leader’s decease.
Expressing gratitude for humanitarian, material and education support rendered by Azerbaijan to Afghanistan, Ambassador emphasized that the contribution of brave Azerbaijani soldiers to peace and security in Afghanistan as part of ISAF is highly appreciated by the Government and the People of Afghanistan.
Furthermore, Ambassador Muhammad Taqi Khalili noted that the development experience of Azerbaijan stands as a model for his country.
During the meeting development of legal-treaty base and cooperation within the international organizations were also discussed.
Ambassador Muhammad Taqi Khalili presented a copy of his credentials to Minister Elmar Mammadyarov.
Minister Elmar Mammadyarov wished to Ambassador Muhammad Taqi Khalili every success in his diplomatic activities.
