The documents of all diplomatic missions accredited to the Republic of Azerbaijan should be officially submitted to the General Secretariat of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The General Secretariat of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs receives documents on weekdays Monday through Friday from 09.00 to 13.00, excluding holidays and days off.
When submitting the documents, representative of a diplomatic mission is obliged to duly present to the General Secretariat officer, who receives the documents, accreditation card issued by the State Protocol Department. The documents submitted by the persons, who are not accredited at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, will not be accepted.
After the documents have been accepted the General Secretariat officer will issue to the representative of the diplomatic mission a receipt indicating date and the time of the document submission.
It is not recommended for the diplomatic missions in the Republic of Azerbaijan to send their documents using courier/postal services.
Documents addressed to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as other state institutions of the Republic of Azerbaijan (verbal notes, letters, addresses etc) must necessarily be submitted with their attached unofficial translations into the Azerbaijani language – the state language of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Documents without unofficial translations into the Azerbaijani language will not be considered and those documents will be returned without being accepted.
